As I browse the red carpet arrival photos of the Met Ball 2013 attendees, I can’t help but admit that I am underwhelmed by the majority of the looks. While the theme of this year’s Met Ball was stated to be “PUNK: Chaos to Couture”, several of the notable names attending appeared to have dressed with the intention of attending a spring garden party (ex., Anna Wintour, Gwyneth Paltrow) while others presented in outfits that were either tasteless or verging on vagrant couture (the hideously attired Mary-Kate Olsen).
While the bloggers of the Lust-Worthy List admittedly possess little to no knowledge of “punk” dressing, I have decided to commemorate the Met Ball 2013 by presenting my own personal interpretation of rebel chic.
Temperley London Fall 2013 gown
Saint Laurent leather biker jacket – $5,645
Ann Demeulemeester high-wasted multi straps leather belt – $803.00
Alexander McQueen studded nappa leather knucklebox clutch – $2087.00
Casadei 120mm glossy patent blade heel sandals – $985.00
Ideally, I would envision the look complimented with a dark lip and smokey eye, as pictured in the Chanel advert above, along with statement earrings, similar to the Emanuele Bicocchi pair selected.
